New FEMTO Current Amplifier with 400 MHz Bandwidth

January 2007 Santa Rosa, CA - FEMTO introduces the new high speed current amplifier HCA-400M-5K-C. This latest addition to the popular HCA series of fast current amplifiers offers a bandwidth of DC to 400 MHz for amplification where current signals have rise times down to 1 ns. The gain of 5 x 103 V/A allows sensitive measurements down to ca. 4 µA. An integrated offset control allows the compensation of unwanted offset currents which might be superimposing on the actual signal. The real DC coupling allows accurate measurements of pulses and digital codes without unwanted signal over/undershoots and baseline drift that occurs with AC coupled amplifiers. When used with photodiodes, an adjustable output voltage is provided for biasing the detector. This improves noise performance. The compact design and shielded metal housing let you use the amplifier close to the signal source. These features prevent noise pickup and signal degradation caused by long cables.

The HCA-400M-5K-C is designed as signal amplifier for fast photodiodes and as preamp for oscilloscopes, A/D converters and transient recorders. Typical applications include;
