General Description

FEMTO high frequency voltage amplifiers offer an extraordinary combination of qualities: variable gain, 100 or 200 MHz bandwidth for any gain setting, exceptional gain flatness, very low noise and the low offset drift of precision amplifiers. This combination makes them the perfect choice for all experiments, where amplifiers with top performance are required.

Gain independent Bandwidth?

The bandwidth of amplifiers usually decreases with rising gain. The rise times of pulses and fast signals therefore vary with the gain setting. This complicates exact and reliable time-resolved measurements. We have solved this particular problem in our innovative Wideband Amplifiers: bandwidth and rise/fall times remain constant with ± 10 % maximum deviation.

Dynamic Input Range: 10 µV to 100 mV

The multistage design of FEMTO Amplifiers avoids the disadvantages of programmable attenuators or multiplying amplifiers where dynamics are limited by the noise and drift performance of the main amplifying stage.

Applications

The LUCI-10 amplifier interface allows remote control of FEMTO amplifiers and photoreceivers with a remote control capability from a standard Windows PC with USB port.

Bandwidth and rise/fall times are independent of gain setting – guaranteed and 100% tested. Offset adjustable by trimpot or external analog control voltage. LED gain setting indication. Output short-circuit protected. Power supply ± 15 V via 3-pin-LEMO socket. A mating connector is provided with the device. Optional power supply PS-15 is available.
