Silicon Photomultipliers – Low Level VIS Sensors

They are an array of silicon avalanche photo diodes (APDs), each operated in Geiger-mode. This results in the SiPM’s advantages of high gain, low temperature dependency, easy operation and enhanced next generation sensor performance.
